Help:Editing pages
Easy editing of pages is what wikis are made for. It only takes a few clicks. Remember to check out the style guide and the annotation guide before you start making any big changes like adding new articles or reformatting or categorization.

If the page you wish to edit does not exist yet, see Help:Starting a new page
[edit] Editing existing pages
- Click the edit page tab
- Make changes to the text in the edit box. Make sure you write clearly and concisely, and make sure your edit does something to improve the page. If you're making normal changes to the text like fixing spelling mistakes or grammar, inserting new sentences, etc, then you don't have to worry too much about formatting. When you do need to use some type of formatting, you do it using wiki syntax, see Help:Formatting for some of the common types of formatting used.
- Enter a short note in the Summary box describing your changes so that people reading the recent changes page will know what you did.
- Preview your changes with the Preview button to make sure the page is going to appear how you want it to.
- Click the Save page button. REMEMBER TO MAKE A NOTE AND PREVIEW FIRST.
- One can rename pages as well. See Help:Moving_a_page
[edit] Discussion
Every article has its own discussion page where you can ask questions, make suggestions, or discuss corrections. Click the discussion page tab to reach it. You can sign your message by writing 4 tildes (~~~~). The wiki software turns them into the current time and your username or your current IP address if you are not logged in.
[edit] Basic wiki formatting
- To link to another article, Amber. It will look like this: Amber.
- To link to another article but use some words different from the article name ("pipe"), you can do this: wild berries. You'll then get a link that looks like: wild berries.
- To add a template to an article, do this: BPAL. The template will be added to the article.
- To make a link to a page outside of the wiki, Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. It will look like this: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
- To make your font bold or italic, add on each side of the text for bold and for italic. This won't work across blank lines. In that case, use the HTML tags.
- To make a top level header, put "==" around the line. To make a second level header, put "===".
- To link to a Wikipedia article, you can do this: Perfume. It will look like this: Perfume.
- To add an article to a category, you can put into any article, where the text after Category: is the name of the category.
- To make an ordered list, put "#" in the front of each line of the list. To make an unordered (bulleted) list, put "*" in the front of each line of the list.
