Guardians of Galaxy: Volume 3 is set to surpass 2 million viewers.

According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated computer network tally on May 8, the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3” (director James Gunn) topped the weekend box office with 1,265,513 people during the weekend (5th to 7th). The cumulative audience is 1,639,956, drawing keen attention as it is set to surpass 2 million viewers.

Earlier, “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3” surpassed 1 million viewers on the fourth day of its release, setting the shortest record among 2023 releases. It looks different from the recently released Marvel works that struggled.

The box office is expected to continue for the time being as it is well-received as a movie that can be enjoyed by all generations for its colorful action, amazing visual beauty, and moving messages.

During the same period, the second place was the movie “Super Mario Brothers” (director Aaron Horvath and Michael Zelenik), which attracted 735,976 people, with a cumulative audience of 1,802,497. Third place was the movie “Crayon Shin-chan: Animal Callout Ninja Navel Guard” (directed by Masakazu Hashimoto), which attracted 304,003 people and recorded a cumulative audience of 343,271.

Meanwhile, “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3,” which won first place, depicts the story of “Peter Quill,” who had lost “Gamora,” once again joining forces with the Guardians team to protect the galaxy and colleagues in crisis and embarking on their last mission if they do not succeed
