Iron again arrested for assault. He hit his roommate with a baseball bat.
Hip-hop singer Iron (real name Jeong Heon-cheol, 28) was arrested on charges of assaulting a male roommate.
According to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on Thursday, Iron was arrested on charges of having his roommate pose prone at his home in Yongsan-gu and hitting him dozens of times with a baseball bat.
Police were found to have been dispatched to the scene after the victim’s family reported it. The victim was also reportedly a minor who had learned music from Iron.
Iron is currently under investigation, according to police officials. Police plan to seek an arrest warrant for Iron on the same day on charges of special injury.
Iron, meanwhile, made his name known by finishing runner-up in Mnet’s “Show Me the Money Season 3” in 2014. Since then, he has made his debut in the K-pop scene, but has been under a series of rumors, including being put on trial for smoking marijuana or being charged with assaulting and threatening his girlfriend.
Iron was indicted in November 2018 on charges of hitting his face with his fist while having sex with his girlfriend A in 2017 for refusing to comply with his demands, and was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and 80 hours of community service by an appeals court.
In addition, he was also indicted on charges of using a reporter to make false information about A be reported when the case was reported in the media and was fined 5 million won in September. He was also charged with smoking marijuana and was sentenced to eight months in prison with two years of probation in the first trial in November 2016.
