Kim Go-eun’s Webtoon Original Yumi’s Cells Casting as the heroine
Recently, while video content based on webtoons has been sweeping the cultural community, actor Kim Go-eun has confirmed her appearance in Naver’s popular webtoon “Yumi’s Cells,” which announced the drama in May.
“Yumi’s Cells” will be created as a pleasant and realistic drama, taking advantage of the original charm of the real world where Yumi lives and the cell village in Yumi’s head.
“Yumi’s Cells” is written by Song Jae-jung, writer of sitcoms and genres from “High Kick” to “Memories of the Alhambra,” and new writer Kim Kyung-ran of “The Man’s Memory,” and directed by more than “Familiar Wife,” “The King Louis,” “The Emperor’s Daughter” and hundreds of others.
Naver’s webtoon “Yumi’s Cells (writer Lee Dong-gun),” which recorded 3.2 billion views, ended its five-year series in November with empathy that expressed the story of Yumi, an ordinary worker in his 30s, from the perspective of Yumi’s head cells.
Kim Go-eun is in charge of Yumi, an ordinary office worker. Yumi is an ordinary woman who is poor at expressing her emotions, but she grows up through love and work and finds small happiness in everyday life. Through the activities of cells devoted to Yumi’s happiness, it will vividly show various worries and emotions that anyone would have experienced if they had love and dreams.
Kim Go-eun said, “It is the power of ‘sympathy’ that the love story of a woman Yumi has been able to make many people cry and laugh for a long time. I am looking forward to her future journey.”
Meanwhile, the drama “Yumi’s Cells” is a drama that combines live-action and animation to boost the fun of webtoons by 200 percent, as the performance of numerous “cells” that control the flow of Yumi’s consciousness is important.
The drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which confirmed the casting of Kim Go-eun, will begin filming in the first half of 2021.
